Most people who consider building a new home are often surprised to discover the level of involvement required to complete the paperwork for the home, let alone the building and completing the home.

In a standard new home construction process, there are numerous elements that you as the Owner need to organise yourself, from landscaping, to demolition, (if you’re demolishing an existing home), floor coverings, window treatments, air conditioning, fencing, telecommunication connection, letterbox, clothesline, TV antennas painting, lighting rubbish bins and more.

Unfortunately, this can be a long and costly process, as you will need these quotes before you can even start construction. It would be even better to know these costs up front before you attend your Pre-start meeting,

Generally, when a quote is provided, there is a time that the quote is valid for, and given the lengthy period of time that passes between getting the quote, completion of your home and when you need the work to be done could possibly mean that supplier prices go up and the additional cost will be passed on to you, the client.
