Central Avenue Homes is on the move Part 3

Following on from our last post about Central Avenue Homes being on the move, the wall framing is all built, and it’s starting to look like a real office.

The walls and ceiling frames are now finished and the ceiling upstairs has been lined. We have opted for stepped cornice and a dropped ceiling in the open office area upstairs and it looks great, especially with all the natural light from the side windows.

The air conditioner has been put on the roof, and the guys couldn’t have chosen a windier day to crane it on the roof, with the winds, it was swinging about 4 or 5”, but luckily enough, they were able to get the unit on the roof and fit it without too much trouble and just in time before the rain started to fall.

The workshop area has all the shelf units installed so the scaffold can hang on the walls and Greg’s woodworking machine can be fitted in there with plenty of room for him to work on it without stuff getting in the way.

The doors and frames have all been installed in the frames, ready for painting. We have a lovely 10 lite French door going on our meeting room so the room will be nice and light, with light coming through the side windows and then through the door.

The reception area walls have all been lined with plasterboard ready for the dropped ceiling

The ceiling guys will work through today and tomorrow and will finish lining all the walls with plasterboard on the lower floor and all the ceilings and come back and sand early next week ready for painting.

The floor in the original toilet suite has been dug up to allow room to install the new waste for the shower, new toilet suite and basin.

The Tiler will be in after the ceilings and walls have finished to line the new toilet and the shower recess in the current toilet and we are going to put polished tiles in the entry through to the back of the reception desk.

Once the tiling is finished, the shower screen company Britone, will come in and measure for the semi frameless shower screen to be installed, it will take a couple of weeks for manufacture and installation, so by then, the plumbing and painting will be complete

The new kitchen cabinet for upstairs has been delivered ready to install once the plumber has done his tube outs.

The new signs have been installed on the side of the building and a smaller sign on one of the glass entry doors.

I’ve been told that I am having a different office now, as the desk configuration that I want won’t fit into the office originally designed for me, I am quite happy about that, as I am getting Greg’s old desk units (it’s quite big) and he is getting a new smaller one.
